“ A few weeks ago i decided to try one of roots sweetcorn fritter wraps as had read the menu in the window and i must say it was delicious. I am not normally one to go for veggie food but the flavours where amazing and i didn’t miss having meat at all i will come back to try more from there menu as the food seems really different and definitely a healthy change to my diet ”

We had some wonderful food and my daughter particularly loved the raspberry milkshake. The food was beautifully presented and service was excellent. “ I keep meaning to post a review for Roots but haven't got round to it. Unfortunately I live about 25 minutes away so I'm not able to go as frequently as I would like. As you enter the staff are always very friendly and genuinely welcoming and I always end up having a nice chat with them as I order and you can tell they enjoy the job and have passion in what they offer. I can see also that they have regulars who they are very attentive with and know them by name. the staff are always really helpful when ordering and recommending food including the manager. I actually couldn't pick a muffin so for fun I asked them to choose one for me. the food is excellent. I think Barnstaple is quite limited with variety and Roots offers something quite different. Even if you are not vegan/vegetarian i strongly suggest giving it a try as you wont be disappointed. I usually go for something like a burrito or Indian wrap but if you have never tried a falafel before Roots is a must! There is quite a variety of options. I suggest going using their website. I don't tend to review places unless they are something quite special! ”
“ Enjoyed a late Vegetarian Breakfast this morning with my daughter. Food was lovely and my hot chocolate was hot and chocolatey. So much so that I purchased a tin and also some of the tasty chutney that was on sale. Roots really does have it all and if your vegetarian or vegan you should give it a go. You won't be disappointed. ”
